Implementation of Nebula Lite Android Touchscreen at Israeli Children’s Museum
The Israeli Children's Museum in Holon is a renowned interactive learning center that offers experiential exhibits for children and adults. Launched in 2017, the "Magical Mystery Tour" exhibit is dedicated to the Beatles, one of the most influential bands in music history. It invites visitors to explore how songs are created, the band's cultural impact, and their artistic evolution through hands-on activities. The exhibit, suitable for ages 5 and up, features immersive elements like recording studios, performance stages, and multimedia displays.
Challenge
The primary challenge was designing an interactive system that could withstand daily use by diverse age groups, including children, while delivering high-quality audio-visual content. Key requirements included:
Easy-to-use interfaces for selecting from a library of Beatles songs (e.g., "Penny Lane," "Yesterday," "Hey Jude").
Reliable audio playback with options for remixing or creating custom takes.
Robust hardware resistant to frequent touching, spills, and environmental factors in a museum setting.
Integration with multimedia elements like video mixing and live performance recording.
Traditional computers or tablets were insufficient due to limited durability and software flexibility. The museum needed an Android-based solution for custom app development, ensuring seamless updates and content management.
Solution
Nebula Lite kiosks power song selection stations:
Users browse Beatles catalog via multi-touch interface.
Select tracks (e.g., "Penny Lane") for playback with visuals and trivia.
Custom Android app enables real-time mixing and headphone/speaker output.
Features like POE, remote MDM, and kiosk lockdown ensure secure, easy management.
Mounted on stands, the durable design resists daily wear in educational settings.
Benefits & Results
Increased Engagement: Intuitive interface boosts time spent on activities, teaching music composition interactively.
Reliability: Commercial build supports high uptime in public spaces.
Scalability: Easy content updates for expanding song libraries.
Ideal for similar museum audio-visual experiences worldwide.
The Nebula Lite transforms passive exhibits into immersive ones, perfectly suiting themed interactions like selecting and enjoying Beatles hits.
