Glory Star 10” Patient Room Display being implemented by over 10 hospitals in the US
With the vast implementations of electronic medical records ( EMR) in hospitals, it has built the foundation for smart room technologies, allowing important datas and records to be displayed or automated. The decline in the cost of hardware and software has also accelerated the implementation of technologies to free the time of nurses towards more clinical work.
Problem
The pandemic effect and the great resignation has hit nursing hard, leaving a shortage of nurses having to work over time. The idea is not to implement technologies for nurses to sit and type, but rather to free the nurse from e.g getting a glass of water to ensure the nurses deliver the highest value in clinical interaction so that they can treat more patients. And one problem was how to display existing electronic health records on an automated display with clear information from existing health records ( EHRs) and updates in real-time, promoting efficiency between the hospital teams.
Solutions
The hospitals across the USA have implemented Glory Star’s 10inch Nebula Plus device running on an Android Platform, with a crisps 400 nit brightness display including a license-free STAROS kiosk lockdown app that allows the hospital to lock down their application on the device without allowing third party access. The device is wall mountable with VESA mounting standard. At the same time, the hospitals implemented Star Control remote management software to update the apps, contents and webpages remotely, allowing a centralized management of devices allowing a paperless operation.
The benefits the Glory Star Patient Room Display has brought are:
Create efficiencies & eliminate paper based processes
Freeing up time for nurses/ doctors so they can treat more patients.
Reduce the cost of patient care.
Patient information at a glance- the staff-facing application is mounted in the hallway outside of each patient’s room and presents information concerning allergies, isolations, dietary restrictions, core measures and other precautions to the healthcare team. To protect the patient’s privacy, the display does not show any patient names.
